in their particular area of North America. The scheduled speakers
will all appear through 5:00, with breaks for entertainment and
reflection throughout the afternoon
There is no admission fee and all
are welcome- as long as they get along with our peaceful group...Park

For the past five years we in Canada
have witnessed increasing levels of meddling and foreign intrusion
into our domestic affairs. It began almost as if the intruder were
"testing the waters"- to make a small gambit into our
areas of policy, to gauge or reaction as a nation, or our lack thereof.
Canadians being slow to react, trustworthy, caring and sharing,
said little.
We
saw the case of a Canadian executive engaged in lawful business
activity with Cuba when he was targeted by the U.S. authorities
for a sting operation. What was his alleged crime? In Canada- it
was nothing- straight up business- but- in the U.S., he and his
company were deemed to be in contravention of the U.S. trade embargo
imposed on the poverty stricken Caribbean island nation. The Americans
couldn't demand his extradition, as our government was fully in
support of bilateral trade with Cuba, so in order to flex some U.S.
muscle and to "set an example" he was lured with lies
and promises to New York, where he was promptly charged and jailed.
What did our Federal Government do?
As expected, nothing. Of course letting a bully smack you with no
comment merely leads to more smacks, which has been happening here
with increasing fervor...We saw the case of Arar, a Canadian citizen
kidnapped by U.S. authorities while in transit to Canada and whisked
off to the Middle East torture camps of the U.S. for a year of cruelty.
What did our government do here? Helped them...
We
have seen a DEA office open on Canadian soil in B.C.and when no
hue and cry was raised- we then witnessed their expansion across
the country and have witnessed the operations that those foreign
agents carry out at will. We have see Texas Rangers patrolling Canadian
highways and bi-ways while giving instruction to Canadian Police
on how to trample the Constitutional Rights of citizens and have
the evidence elicited during this procedure be upheld in a court
of law.
It has gone on for far too long and
the straw that "broke the camel's back" and mobilized
people around the world was this news item...
On July 29th, 2005, the American
D.E.A. backstopped by the Vancouver Police Department and RCMP,
executed a warrant from the United States to raid the B.C. Marijuana
Party Headquarters in Vancouver and arrest party president Marc
Emery in Halifax.
Two
of Marc’s associates, Greg Williams and Michelle Rainey, were
also arrested.
The United States is attempting to
extradite all three to face life in U.S. prison for selling cannabis
seeds, a practice that has been openly tolerated by Canadian authorities
and the Canadian people for a decade.
On September 10th, people in cities
in Canada, the United States, and across the globe are uniting in
protest against this alarming infringement on Canadian sovereignty
and unprecedented escalation by the Bush administration of the failed
War on Drugs.
The Canadian government must abide
by the Extradition Act of Canada and refuse the extreme rendition
of Marc, Greg, and Michelle.

Saturday, September 10th from Noon
to 5 PM.
Speakers from 2:00 to 5:00pm
with breaks for music.
